Carbon removals
Capture is the beginning. Storage makes the difference.
JALO is developing a route for capturing, liquefying and permanently storing biogenic CO₂. The goal: demonstrable removal, with full substantiation of the chain.

From capture to demonstrable removal.

01
From biogenic CO₂ to permanent storage
The planned capture installation captures CO₂ from the flue gases of the biomass boiler. After conditioning and liquefaction, transport to geological storage follows. According to the memorandum, Carbon Collectors has issued a statement for storage from the operational start. The binding transport and storage agreement still has to be completed.
02
Gross capture is not an issued removal credit
The approximately 60,000 tonnes is a technical design volume. The approximately 56,000 tonnes net belongs to the scenario in which the full volume is stored, after an estimated correction for transport and losses. The actual number of credits depends, among other things, on the split between storage and use, realised performance and independent validation.
03
We keep use and storage apart
In addition to storage, the project provides for the use of biogenic CO₂ by, for example, the food industry and horticulture. According to the memorandum, a three-year contract has been signed with Air Liquide. CO₂ that is reused and later released is not booked as permanent removal at the same time. The same tonne can only get one destination.
04
Proof before a climate claim
Validation under the Rainbow Standard BioCCS methodology is foreseen, with a targeted statement in January 2027. This is not yet a granted validation or an issued credit. Chain emissions, biomass origin, monitoring and the permanent storage also become part of the substantiation. Landscape results via Your.Earth form a separate stream of evidence.
Let's make it concrete
