From residue to quality

Smartly designed. Built in coherence.

The JALO process combines proven equipment in a patented process configuration. The goal is to upgrade even low-grade woody residue streams into consistent biopellets.

The designed production process

Six steps. One coherent plant.

01

Intake

Sorting, sampling and recording origin.

02

Pre-treatment

Size reduction and removal of unwanted materials.

03

Drying

Even conditioning with process heat.

04

Refining

Screening and further upgrading the material stream.

05

Pelletising

Pressing, cooling and quality control.

06

Utilities & CO₂

Energy, heat recovery and CO₂ capture.

01

Quality starts at intake

On intake, feedstocks are separated by quality and assessed in the laboratory. Large material is reduced in size; stones, metal and other unwanted parts are removed. Even dosing supports the following process steps.

02

Conditioning, refining and pressing

The feedstock is dried with heat from the energy system. Screening and further refining make the material suitable for pelletising. The designed main product line produces 6 mm pellets to the ENplus A2 specification. A separate stream of fine residues can be processed into 8 mm pellets.

03

Utilities as part of the whole

The energy installation is designed for heat, own electricity production and CO₂ capture. According to the project plan, GETEC is involved in the utilities under a service model. The technical interfaces, performance and responsibilities are laid down in the commercial completion.

04

Scale requires proven performance

According to the memorandum, the process is protected by NL 1041265 and EP 3280785. The integrated plant is a first realisation at this scale. Independent assessment, supplier performance guarantees and tests during commissioning must demonstrate that the system as a whole meets the requirements.
