XL Businesspark Twente
It begins in Almelo.
At XL Businesspark Twente, JALO is developing an integrated plant for biopellets, CO₂ capture and heat utilisation. A first installation that must lay the foundation for further roll-out.

Indicative planning according to the memorandum of September 2026, subject to financing, contracts and execution.
01
An industrial design with regional significance
The intended location is Darwin 17 in Almelo. The design couples pre-treatment, drying, refining and pelletising to utilities, CO₂ capture and logistics. The regional significance also lies in possible local heat supply and in an agroforestry programme for Overijssel.
02
From project plan to realisation
The memorandum of 7 September 2026 describes the final preparation phase before the investment decision. The objective is Financial Close in the fourth quarter of 2026. If completing the debt financing takes more time, the plan provides for a first equity closing in 2026 and a debt close in the first quarter of 2027.
03
Site, permits and execution
According to the memorandum, the main permits are final and irrevocable; the detailed civil engineering still requires completion. The land position and project-critical rights must align with the requirements of financiers at Financial Close. This page reflects the status according to the project plan; completed financing or construction work is not confirmed by it.
04
Prove first, then repeat
The integrated process is being realised at this scale for the first time. The individual technologies have commercial references, but the integration requires careful engineering, performance tests and operational validation. Further locations are a future option outside the current base investment.
Let's make it concrete
