Origin is part of quality

Starting from what the landscape can bear.

JALO focuses on woody residue streams with verifiable origin. Regional landscape management and agroforestry can strengthen supply, alongside a broader and reliable feedstock chain.

01

Value for low-grade streams

The refining concept is intended for woody material that, because of bark, branches and other natural components, is not readily suitable for high-grade pellets. Sorting, cleaning and process steps determine which streams are responsible and technically usable.

02

Continuity requires diversification

A plant with a design capacity of around 125,000 tonnes of pellets per year needs consistent supply. The plan therefore does not assume 100% local wood. The intended basis is a long-term purchase and offtake structure with Brüning Group. The current status in the memorandum is a memorandum of understanding, which still has to be converted into a binding agreement.

03

Adding regional streams step by step

Through Your.Earth, JALO wants to build agroforestry and landscape restoration in Overijssel together with farmers. Suitable pruning and maintenance residues can be included in the chain over time. Biodiversity, soil, existing uses and the carrying capacity of the area remain part of the assessment.

04

What a supplier must be able to demonstrate

When assessing new streams, both origin and physical quality count. The concrete acceptance conditions and contracts are determined by JALO.

  • Origin, land use and chain documentation.
  • Composition, moisture, contaminants and seasonal pattern.
  • Available volume, logistics and transport distance.
  • Applicable sustainability requirements and verifiable registration.

Regional streams over time

Farmers, customers and the region in the same chain.

The agroforestry programme adds regional residue streams to a broader feedstock portfolio over time. Suitability, volumes and acceptance conditions are agreed per stream.
