For farmers in Overijssel

A stronger landscape. A future for your farm.

Agroforestry can combine farming, trees and landscape elements. With the intended Your.Earth programme, JALO wants to support farmers with an approach that fits their land and their business.

01

Your farm is the starting point

Not every parcel calls for the same layout. Tree rows between crops, hedgerows, shelterbelts, riparian buffers or trees in a grazing system can serve different functions. A fitting plan takes the existing farm, management, yields, soil and water into account.

02

Guidance from design to management

The proposed programme includes support for planting, technical assistance, training and transition income during establishment. Part of the toolkit may consist of interest-free, revolving financing. The split between loans, contributions and research is still to be determined; there is no open subsidy scheme or guaranteed funding yet.

03

New value from different streams

Depending on the chosen system, wood, fruit, nuts and suitable maintenance residues can become part of the business model. Biomass supply to JALO requires acceptance and offtake agreements. Any carbon sequestration on the farm is assessed separately and is not added to the same tonnes of CO₂ that JALO stores permanently.

04

How an exploratory conversation starts

Interest begins with the location, size, current use and your goals for the farm. Suitability, a baseline measurement, possible layout and financing conditions can then be investigated. Participation only arises after concrete agreements; a message of interest does not commit you to anything.

  • Describe your farm and the parcels you would like to explore.
  • Indicate which landscape elements or crops interest you.
  • Discuss management, financing, yields and the measurement approach.

Let's make it concrete
