The next horizon
Building today. Daring to think further.
Alongside the first plant in Almelo, JALO wants to explore new applications: clean hydrogen, black pellets and wider use of local heat. The shared direction remains regenerative development.

01
Almelo forms the basis
The first priority is a financeable, safe and well-functioning installation for biopellets, heat utilisation and CO₂ capture. New product lines receive a separate technical, commercial and financial assessment. They are not part of the current base investment.
02
Clean hydrogen
A future route could convert woody residues via gasification into syngas and then hydrogen. JALO wants to investigate feasibility, feedstocks, offtake, energy demand, possible CO₂ storage and chain emissions. The technology choice, capacity, financing and start date have not yet been determined.
03
Black pellets
JALO wants to explore thermally upgraded pellets for industrial applications. Torrefaction or steam explosion can change properties such as energy density, grindability and moisture resistance. The final product choice requires testing, a customer and a suitable installation.
04
Scaling with the landscape
Further development should also lead to stronger landscape management and support for farmers via Your.Earth. The intention is to carry the regenerative model into subsequent projects. Concrete contributions and programmes are agreed and monitored per project.
Let's make it concrete
